Sourcengine is a B2B e-commerce platform developed by Sourceability, designed specifically for sourcing electronic components. It allows users to search, compare, and purchase components from a vast inventory of suppliers around the globe. The platform is built to streamline the procurement process for electronic components, offering real-time pricing, availability, and lead-time information.

Request a Quote Enhancements
Problem:
Users often struggle to find specific parts or encounter out-of-stock items while browsing the website. This leads to a high bounce rate and a significant drop in the time users spend on the site. When users can't locate what they need, they leave the website without making a purchase or even seeking assistance, resulting in lost sales opportunities.

Challenges
High Bounce Rate: Users quickly leave the site when they can't find the desired parts or when items are unavailable.
Reduced Engagement: The time spent on the website drops, indicating that users are not exploring other options or seeking help.
Lost Sales Opportunities: Without a way to assist users in finding alternatives, potential sales are lost.
Agent Customer Assistance: Currently users without a member account don't have access to a Sales Rep Agent. How can we give our non-account members access to Sales Rep Agents to help them with their order or in finding the part they are looking for.
Goal:
Enhance the add to cart rates by 30% and provide an alternative solution for users who can't find what they need through the introduction of a "Request for Quote" feature. Additionally, improve the user experience on the product detail page by optimizing its layout, information accessibility, and usability to ensure a seamless and satisfying shopping experience.

Proposed Solutions
Request a Quote Feature: Implement a prominent "Request a Quote" option on the product detail page. This feature should allow users to easily submit a request for the specific part they need, even if it's out of stock. This information will help us locate the part and provide a quote for the user.
Live Chat and Support Options: Integrate a live chat feature and prominently display contact options for speaking to an agent. Users should have quick access to support for assistance in finding parts or alternative solutions.
Enhanced Product Recommendations: When a part is unavailable, offer personalized product recommendations and alternatives. This can include similar items or compatible parts to keep users engaged and increase the likelihood of a sale.
Feedback Loop: Collect user feedback on the "Request a Quote" feature and support interactions to continuously improve the experience. This will help us refine the process and better meet user needs.
User Research
To get started we utilized a combination of competitive analysis of competitor sites, existing research, and quantitative and qualitative user research of existing customers on the Sourcengine website. With that we were able to make a list of user pain points and needs and get insight into areas of the page that needed improvement.
User Feedback & Research Crafted Wireframes

Utilizing User Feedback & Research we conceptualized wireframes that were driven by what our users shared would be most helpful when not being able to find the part or the pricing they were looking for.

Enhance Page Layout: Prioritize key information by repositioning available offers, part details, and technical specifications higher on the page for quicker user access.
Streamline Pricing Information: Redesign the pricing section to improve clarity and interactivity, making it easier for users to understand and act on pricing details.
Promote Alternative Solutions: Display relevant alternates prominently and introduce dynamic prompts to encourage RFQ (Request for Quote) submissions, capturing leads from users who can't find their desired items.
